Benzyl Benzoate

It is an oily liquid with a faint aromatic smell& is a drug of choice for scabies. It is available as an emulsion, which isapplied all over, except face & neck, after cleansing bath. For pediculosis the emulsion is applied at the site of infestation taking care not to get into eyes. It is washed off with soap and water after 24 hrs.

Indications

Scabies & pediculosis.

Dosage

Scabies : Apply emulsion to the whole body after bath & drying. Repeat the procedure within 5 days. Pediculosis : Apply the emulsion below neck & wash with soap & water after 24 hrs. Repeat if required.

Contra-Indications

Irritated skin, neonates.

Special Precautions

Apply below neck only. Prevent contact with eyes.

Hypersensitivity, irritation.
