Delhi: RML hospital performs second multi-organ donation

NEW DELHI : Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital, Delhi, has conducted its second successful multi-organ retrieval on a 21-year-old man from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, who died because of a head injury on September 17.
The first multiple-organ donation was performed on a 25-year-old patient in the hospital over a year ago.
The donation saved the lives of three people.
The Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr V K Tiwari told DTMT that while one kidney and the liver were transported to AIIMS, the other kidney was donated to a 43-year-old patient at RML Hospital who has been on dialysis since 2017. The organ donation was coordinated by the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation.
