CYCLANDELATE

It is a papaverine like general smooth muscle relaxant. It has been claimed to reduce frequency of anginal attacks and to improve circulation in peripheral vascular diseases.

Indications

Impaired mental function due to cerebrovascular disease. Peripheral vascular disorders including intermittent claudication, Raynaud’s disease. Buerger’s disease.


Dosage

Adults: 200-400 mg. 4 times daily. Children: Not recommended.


Contra-Indications

Myocardial infarction. Cerebrovascular haemorrhage.


Special Precautions

Renal dysfunction, hypotension, cerebrovascular disease. Paediatrics: Not recommended. Pregnancy: Contraindicated. Lactation: Contraindicated. Elderly: Caution should be taken.


Side Effects

Flushing, palpitation, headahe, G.I. disturbances.
